Charles Cameron to Lead New NYSID Lighting Program

Recognizing the need for professional training and education in interior design curricula, New York School of Interior Design (NYSID) is launching a Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Interior Lighting Design beginning June 2011. Applicants must already hold a professional degree in architecture, engineering, interior design, or a related design discipline. NYSID has enlisted lighting designer Charles Cameron to serve as the Lighting Area Coordinator for this one-year practice-based program geared toward the schedule of working professionals. With a focus on illumination for interior environments, courses will be held at night and on weekends, and the 30-credit degree will cover a range of topics including the history and theory of lighting design; sustainability principles; integrated systems design; as well as financial analysis, code compliance and project maintenance. The program will be located at NYSID's new Graduate Center at 401 Park Ave. South. More
