C2C Certification for Litecontrol's Products

Hanson, Mass.-based Litecontrol has earned Cradle to Cradle Silver Certification for all its architectural lighting fixtures. Under the C2C Design process, the company's products, processes, and policies underwent a detailed review and were assessed in five categories: human and ecological health impacts of materials; extent of materials re-utilization; manufacturing process energy use; water stewardship; and socially responsible corporate policies. MechoShade Crade to Cradle

, New York-based manufacturer of window covering products, has announced that its Mecho/5 product with EcoVeil has received a Silver Cradle to Cradle Certification from MBDC, the sustainable product development and consulting firm founded by William McDonough and Michael Braungart. EcoVeil uses thermoplastic olefin-based yarn, which, unlike traditional PVC/polyester cloth, can be recycled into new shade cloth. More
