Climate Protection Council Formed

The U.S. Conference of Mayors has recently formed the Climate Protection Council, aimed at bringing together business leaders and mayors to address climate change issues and discuss solutions for making cities more sustainable. The council was formed at the two-day Mayors Climate Protection Summit in Seattle Nov. 1-2, 2007. Aurora, Ohio-based lighting manufacturer TCP Inc. sponsored the summit and joins seven other charter members: Johnson Controls, The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers, American Chemistry Council, DuPont, WalMart Stores, and Waste Management. Venture Opens Educational Facility

Venture Lighting International has opened its new educational facility, Venture Lighting Institute, and its metal halide education program, located in Streetsboro, Ohio. The 80,000-square-foot facility houses Venture's sales and marketing operations center and offers training programs for dealers, installers, and other lighting industry pros. The Venture Lighting Institute offers IESNA and AIA Recognized Provider continuing education programs and CEU credits. More

TCP Opens New Global HQ

TCP has opened a new, 154,000-square-foot global headquarters in Aurora, Ohio, to house its office space, warehouse, distribution center, testing labs, and customer service calling center, as well as an employee fitness center and cafeteria. The new headquarters also serves as a showroom for its energy efficient products. More
