The Designers Lighting Forum of New York (DLFNY) has announced the program for its annual one-day event dedicated to solid-state lighting discussions. LEDucation 5 will take place March 16, 2011, in New York City at the Hotel Pennsylvania. More than 87 manufacturers will display their latest LED products in a table-top exhibit setting from 12 p.m to 9 p.m. Speaker sessions will take place at 12:30p.m. and 7:30p.m. and include presentations by lighting designers Barbara Horton, Brian Stacy, and Richard Fisher, researcher Michael Myer, and manufacturer representatives Ron Steen and Eric Lind. Stacy and Fisher will discuss their work on the award-winning project the Yas Marina Hotel. Horton will provide an overview of the Next Generation Lighting program. Myer will provide an update of current LED standards. Steen will discuss LED color issues and Lind will tackle the topic of what dimming means when it comes to LEDs.
