LEDs are becoming the new normal and, as a result, lighting manufacturers are designing new fixtures and updating existing ones to emphasize the benefits, from digital control to smaller form factors, of the still-new technology. Below we round up a few of the latest fixtures created or amended for LEDs.
Axis Spotlight, Tegan Lighting
Tegan Lighting is adding a lightweight, low-profile track fixture to its low-voltage Duplex Cable System. Lamped with either an LED or halogen MR16, each Axis Spotlight pivots 170 degrees or rotates 360 degrees, and is adjustable with fingertip control. The fixture features an integral connector and is offered with accessories such as glare shields, lens clips, and media holders. Its extruded and machined aluminum housing is supported by a track system of two strands of 4mm-diameter copper-wrapped Kevlar in a brushed aluminum finish.
LED-Compatible MR16 Track Fixtures, Juno Lighting
This suite of enclosed MR16 track fixtures are ventilated to accommodate both LED and halogen lamps and works with the company’s 12V MR16 LED lamps on its various track systems. Offered in five styles—Concentricity16, Arc16, Lily16, Cone16, and Gimbal 16—that are each dimming-compatible with most LED lamps, the luminaires feature a die-cast aluminum housing in a finish choice of black, white, silver, or satin nickel.
Correlated Color Temperature for SmartCast Technology–enabled CR Series LED Troffers, Cree
Cree is introducing field-adjustable correlated color temperature (CTT) for its SmartCast Technology–enabled CR Series of LED architectural troffers, which is the first of the company’s products to offer instantly adjustable CCT. Offered from 3000K to 5000K in 500K increments, it joins the company’s TrueWhite technology to allow for the use of a single troffer type in a space.
Lumencove Nano, Lumenpulse
Lumenpulse is incorporating its Lumendrive technology in its Lumencove Nano cove fixture, allowing the LEDs to be powered directly from the AC mains while offering full digital dimming and control. Offered in 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, and 4000K with a 120-degree-by-120-degree beam spread, the surface-mounted fixture is operable via zero-to-10V and Lumentalk controls. The system can be connected in runs of up to 300’ on a single 277V circuit in 1’ and 4’ sections.
