Playlist for The LRC Celebrates 25 Years

The Lighting Research Center at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is housed in the historic W. & L.E. Gurley Building in Troy, N.Y.

The LRC is testing more than 115 lamps for reliability in its laboratory, which is the only university-based laboratory accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accredition Program.

Faculty, staff, and students surprised Leslie and Rea with a tribute to their 25 years of leadership at the LRC.

Fred Heller, chairman emeritus and former CEO of Genlyte, was the inaugural recipient of the Glenn W. Bailey Industry Mentor program.

An impressive cake made by Levent Sahin, a Ph.D. student at the LRC, recreates the facility in edible form. He also wrote the names of the LRC staff on the back of the cake.
