MechoSystems, a leading commercial solar shade company, founded in 1969 and located in Long Island City, New York, has entered into acquisition agreement with Springs Window Systems (Springs), the world’s second largest provider of custom window covering products. Springs is based in Middleton, Wis., and has nine facilities across the United States and Mexico employing approximately 5,000 people. The transaction is set to close in the next 30 days.
The management team at MechoSystems  Joel Berman, Chairman, Jan Berman, President, and Glen Berman, Executive Vice President, will continue to manage the MechoSystems business. “We fully intend to leverage the experience and expertise of both companies, and share best practices on products, technologies, business processes, operations and most importantly, our commitments to our customers," said Scott Fawcett, President and CEO of Springs in a press statement.
The acquisition will allow the two companies to capitalize on each other’s strength in the commercial and consumer window coverings industry. “We are very excited to team up with a complementary industry leader and leverage their strengths and resources to help drive our company, brand and products to the next level," said Joel Berman, Chairman of MechoSystems in a prepared statement.
