The IES has released new documents as part of its Technical Memorandum Series and its Lighting Measurement Testing & Calculation Guides. They are as follows:
In the Technical Memorandum Series,An Optional Method for Adjusting the Recommended Illuminance for Visually Demanding Tasks within IES Illuminance Categories P through Y Based on Light Source Spectrum (TM-24-13)has been published. This document reviews how the Spectral Power Distribution (SPD) of light sources can be integrated into the IES Illuminance Determination System for interior visual tasks.
In the Society’s Lighting Measurement Testing & Calculation Guides,the newIES Guide to Lamp Seasoning (LM-54-12)outlines requirements “for seasoning of lamps to attain a state of sufficient stability for reproducible measurement of initial photometric, colorimetric, and/or electrical characteristics.”LM-54-12replacesIESNA Guide to Lamp Seasoning (LM-54-99).
IES Approved Method for Photometry of Reflector Type Lamps (LM-20-13)also has been published. It describes the photometric testing procedures for reflector type lamps. All of these technical documents are available for purchase at www.ies.org/store.
