Cooper Lighting has joined the California Lighting Technology Center (CLTC) as an Affiliate Partner. Through this partnership Cooper and the CLTC will collaborate on projects focused on energy-efficient lighting and daylighting technologies. Cooper joins a long list of lighting companies, utilities, and lighting associations already working with the CLTC. That list includes Acuity Brands, BC Hydro, Cree, the EMerge Alliance, GE Lighting, Lutron, Osram Sylvania, Philips, and Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

The CLTC, which opened in 2004 and is part of the University of California, Davis, is a joint effort of the California Energy Commission, the U.S. Dept. of Energy, and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association. The center is home to demonstration facilities and full-scale lighting and daylighting application laboratories in which the various lighting stakeholders can work on their initiatives aimed to advance the commercialization of energy-efficient lighting technologies.
