2013 Lightfair Innovation Awards

Lightfair’s Innovation Awards program kicked off the Apr. 23 opening of the annual trade show, held this year in Philadelphia. Fifteen products were recognized for their technical prowess. Boldplay, a suspended LED luminaire by Philips received the overall prize for Most Innovative Product of the Year.

The IALD Awards were presented Apr. 24, 2013, during Lightfair in Philadelphia, at an evening program and reception held at The Crystal Tea Room. The Radiance Award went to Munich-based lighting design firm Pfarré Lighting Design for the Hafencity-University Subway Station in Hamburg, Germany.

2013 GE Edison Awards

The 30th Annual GE Edison Awards were presented Apr. 22, 2013, during Lightfair in Philadelphia at an evening award program and reception held at The Philadelphia Museum of Art. Eleven projects were recognized and the highest honor the GE Edison Award was presented to New York-based lighting firm L’Observatoire International for their lighting design for Vintry Fine Wines in New York City. 10th Annual AL Light & Architecture Design Awards

GE Lighting Celebrates Nela Park’s Centennial

On Apr. 18, 2013, GE Lighting celebrated the centennial of Nela Park, its headquarters located just outside Cleveland. Several hundred guests and GE Lighting employees commemorated the milestone with a series of events throughout the day that included the opening of a time capsule from 1916 and the “planting” of a new time capsule for future generations.
