The Hellenic Illumination Committee has issued a call for papers from individuals wishing to present at Urban Nightscape 2006, an international conference that immediately follows the annual meetings of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE), Divisions 4 (Lighting and Signaling for Transport) and 5 (Exterior Lighting and other Applications), being held in Greece for the first time. Abstracts must be turned in by April 24, 2006.
Urban Nightscape 2006 will focus on the environmental, technical, and cultural aspects of electric light in urban settings, specifically master planning for city lighting, obtrusive light, and light and color perception in public spaces at night. The conference will take place September 21-23 at the Goulandris Museum of Natural History in Athens, Greece, following the annual meetings of CIE Divisions 4 and 5, which will take place September 18-21. Urban Nightscape will be held in both English and Greek with simultaneous translations.
Those wishing to participate as speakers should submit abstracts no later than April 24, 2006 by emailing email@example.com. Abstracts should refer to the purpose of the study that will be discussed, its scientific approach, expected results, and prospects and conclusions. Full papers must be submitted by June 23, 2006.
