Recommended Practice for Commissioning Building Electrical Systems is the newest publication from the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), and executive director for standards and safety, Brooke Staugger points out the book is a bit of a departure for the organization.

'Most other National Electrical Installation Standards (NEIS) are product-based,' she explains. They describe the installation practice for lighting, switchboards, transformers, raceways, and so on.' But NECA 90, our newest book, takes a broad 'horizontal' perspective across the entire electrical installation. It defines the process of commissioning building systems and provides guidelines for attaining optimum system performance that conforms to the designer's intent as represented by the plans, specifications and industry codes and standards.'

NECA 90-2004 is the 27th colume of the NEIS series. It can be ordered by calling (301) 215-4504.
