The New York City Section of the IES (IESNYC) has announced an initiative to provide funding opportunities to IES members nationwide to attend the IES Annual Conference, Oct. 23-25 in Orlando, Fla., who might not otherwise be able to attend. Recipients will receive a stipend of up to $1,000 to cover travel, transportation, and registration fees. The IESNYC Board of Managers (BOM) will select members based on the eligibility requirements outlined below. The number of stipends “…to be awarded is solely at the discretion of the IESNYC BOM.”

Interested candidates must complete the online form at the IES website no later than Aug. 31, 2016. Applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation, one each from their section president and their regional director or district chair. These letters must be uploaded with the application.

Eligibility requirements are as follows:

  • Candidates must be a member of good standing in the Illuminating Engineering Society.
  • Members from the New York City or Orlando sections are not eligible.
  • Funding is not transferable.

Funding recipients will be notified on or about September 7, 2016.
