The New York City Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IESNYC) has announced the establishment of the First Annual IESNYC Scholarship to be awarded Spring 2016. The deadline is Feb. 15. The award carries with it a $25,000 purse. It is the first time the section has supported lighting education to such an extent in a single scholarship offering. The program is specifically open to first-year students currently enrolled in a full time graduate architectural lighting program at an accredited college or university in New York State. “The IESNYC has always been a strong voice for education within the lighting community,” said Brian Belluomini, current president of the IESNYC Section and principal of Shimstone Design Studio. “Supporting meritorious students, is our Section’s way of inspiring the next generation of professionals in the field of architectural lighting.” For further details go to the IESNYC website.
