The Enlighten conference program features educational seminars by lighting design professionals organized in three concurrent tracks—Art, Science, and Professional Tools. While each of the conferences offers a principally different lineup of speakers, some presentations, such as the annual update on the Certified Lighting Designer (CLD) credentialing program, will be given at both events. And one seminar, (in the Professional Tools track) Thinking Outside the Brick and Mortar - Challenging the Usual Business Model, given by lighting designers Andrea Hartranft, Hartranft Lighting Design, Charlotte, N.C.; Barbara Horton, HLB Lighting Design, New York; and Anna Sbokou, Anna Sbokou Lighting Design, London and Athens, will be presented at both conferences.
The Enlighten Europe keynote speaker will be Sakchin Bessette, creative director of Montréal-based Moment Factor, a new media arts studio. His keynote during the 2015 Enlighten Americas conference held in Baltimore, Md. was one of the conference highlights. The keynote for Enlighten Americas 2016 has not yet been announced.
