Philips Lighting Electronics recently announced the expansion of its offering of high-efficiency Philips Advance brand electronic ballasts participating in the NEMA Premium Ballast Program. Consistent with Consortium for Energy Efficiency specifications and tested in accordance with ANSI standards, products eligible to participate in the NEMA Premium Ballast Program include either instant-start or programmed rapid-start fixed output electronic ballasts designed for use with 4-foot 32W T8 fluorescent lamps. The products that qualify for the program bear a special designation designed to help lighting professionals and end users recognize the market's highest-performing ballast products available. Thomas Lighting, a trademark of the Philips Group, has relocated its headquarters from Louisville, Ky., to Elgin, Ill. Located northwest of Chicago, the new offices are better connected with the Thomas Lighting Distribution Center to streamline ordering and shipping processes and improve customer service. While Forecast, another Philips group brand, shares the same office and warehousing facility as Thomas, the two will continue to operate as separate companies.

The National Association of Electrical Distributors is accepting applications for the June 13 Certified Electrical Professional (CEP) exam for inside and outside sales professionals.
