The International Association of Lighting Designers and the organizers of the lighting workshop and festival in Alingsås, Sweden, have put out the call for workshop leaders. Applications are due Jan. 8, 2016.

For 2016, there are seven vacant slots for workshops leaders, who will guide more than 65 students in the creation of lighting installations around the town. Applicants must submit their name, location, and basic contact information along with their relevant experience on a single page (A4 dimensions). Applicants must be available to meet in Alingsås on the following dates: Feb. 25 - 28, 2016 for the initial concept meeting and on Sept. 22 – Oct. 1, 2016 for the workshop. (Students arrive on Sept. 24.)

The 2016 workshop theme centers on the 17 new climate goals set by the United Nations. The specific focus will be finalized during the February concept meeting.

The 2015 Lights in Alingsås festival was the program’s most successful, drawing more than 85,000 visitors. The 2016 festival will take place Sept. 3 - Nov. 6, 2016. For more information, visit the festival website
