The New York City Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IESNYC) has announced the Call for Projects for the 2016 Lumen Awards. The deadline is Feb. 8, 2016.
In a major change from previous years, the IESNYC Lumen Awards will “now be managed completely independently of the IES (the ‘society’) Illumination Awards (IES IA) Program. Projects entered for the IESNYC 2016 Lumen Awards, ARE NOT automatically entered into the IES IA program. Projects will have to be entered twice—once to the IESNYC Lumen Awards, with its own entry portal and unique procedures and requirements—and then separately to the IES IA via the IES IA portal. The IES Illumination Award’s deadline is also Feb. 8, 2016; however, there are two different sets of entry fees for each competition.
According to the IESNYC website, the change is “To better serve the members of the IESNYC, the local section of the IES, and to better meet the needs of the submitters and the Lumen Awards program.” All questions regarding the IESNYC Lumen Awards should be sent to Megan Carroll via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org. The Lumen Gala will take place June 16, 2016, in New York City.
